One Year Anniversary

This is my one year anniversary of being in DA.  I just wanted to share with everyone some of the things that have happened in the year.

I started by hiding bills, paying one card with another and pulling cash off to meet my minimal expenses, regardless of my good income.  When I started, my car had been repossessed; I had $60,000 in debt.  Some of it mine alone and some from the CC I had stolen from my partner and used.  In addition, my life was crazy trying to catch the mail before anyone, ripping it up, taking the phone off the hook so no one could call and lying about everything.

I have retired one CC, through garnishment which still counts, $3,000.  I have paid back my dad who helped me on the 24% interest cards $13,500.  I have stopped using my IRAs in loans and have paid $2,000 back on one and $1,200 back on the other.  I no longer have to be the first person home, to catch the mail.  I can have a conversation with my partner regarding money without crying or ending in a fight.  I have not been perfect, but I am committed to the idea progress not perfection.  Most of all, every time I sit with a few dollars left and feel the need to debt for ----, which I really need in my head, money had come and it is always just what I needed. The program works.

Thanks everyone for the support this last year especially during the garnishment, my partner's anger, and my way of looking at an issue from only one side.  When something stressful happened, I couldn't wait to log on and tell what happened as I knew I would get the support I needed.  You have saved my life this last year.
