Listed below are a number of other books that people who are working the D.A. program have found to be very helpful. Only D.A. pamphlets and Alcoholics Anonymous literature are officially suggested by Debtors Anonymous. These other books are outside resources, that are neither endorsed nor opposed by Debtors Anonymous. They represent the experience and/or opinions of the author.

You can probably find most of these books in your local bookstore under "Personal Finance", "Recovery", "Self Help" or "Psychology". You should be able to find them without too much problem, but if your bookstore is out of them, they can usually order them for you.

  • Jerrold Mundis, Earn What You Deserve. Bantam books. Focus is on recovery from compulsive under-earning.

  • Donna Boundy, When Money is the Drug: The Compulsion for Credit, Cash, and Chronic Debt. HarperSanFrancisco (pb), 1993
  • Olivia Mellan, Overcoming Overspending: A Winning Plan for Spenders and their Partners
  • Mark Bryon & Julie Cameron, The Money Drunk: 90 Days to Financial Freedom. Outlines different forms of compulsive debting, as well as a recovery program that is compatible with D.A. principles
  • Robin Leonard, Money Trouble. A resource for dealing with creditors.
  • Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer, Creating Money, Keys to Abundance.

  • Shakti Gawain, Creative Visualization. Basic, easy-to-read text on the use of visualization and positive affirmations.
